Cosy Camp tent selection
Air tents versus pole tents for Australian camping
Choose an air tent when inflation suits your campsite routine and you have room to carry the complete package. Choose a pole tent when its floor plan, packed load and frame assembly fit your trip better. The frame type alone does not determine comfort, speed or weather performance.

| Decision | Air tent | Pole tent |
|---|---|---|
| Raising the structure | Inflate the beams using the correct pump, adapter and specified pressure. | Assemble and fit the model's frame in the specified sequence. |
| Finishing the pitch | Peg, tension and inspect; add any separate awning supports. | Peg, tension and inspect; attach the inner room and optional accessories as directed. |
| Packing and transport | Account for the fabric bundle, pump and accessories. Some family air tents are substantial vehicle loads. | Account for every bag, including a separate frame bag where supplied. |
| Ongoing checks | Follow the manual's valve, pressure and repair instructions. | Check pole joints, sleeves and any model-specific spare parts. |
| Weather suitability | Compare the exact model, anchoring requirements and forecast. Neither frame type establishes a storm rating. | |
A setup time should include unpacking, positioning, raising, pegging, tensioning and installing the sleeping area. Inflation time alone is an incomplete comparison. Practise the full process before a trip, particularly when arriving late or travelling with children.
Compare actual tents, not just frame types
These models span different uses. Dimensions are in centimetres and are approximate where the listing says so. Outer dimensions include non-sleeping space. Check the selected version and its floor plan before buying.

The air-model figures above come from Cosy Camp's individual listings, checked on 7 September 2026; they are not independent measurements. Land Nest specifications are checked against Snow Peak's manual. For the larger pole-frame option, read Land Lock TP-671R versus Land Nest Shelter TP-259.
Plan the whole pitching routine
Air-frame checklist
- Choose a suitable site and inspect the tent, valves and included equipment.
- Position and secure it in the order specified by its manual.
- Inflate with the correct adapter and model-specific pressure; check the valves and beam shape.
- Complete pegging, guylines, tensioning, ventilation and the sleeping layout. Fit an extension only after the main tent is secure.
Pole-frame checklist
- Check the parts and position the shelter on a suitable site.
- Assemble and fit the identified poles in the manual's sequence, without forcing joints.
- Raise and secure the body, then complete the pegs and guylines.
- Attach the inner room and any optional covers as directed, then check tension and access.
These are planning checklists, not substitutes for model instructions. Snow Peak requires at least two people to assemble and dismantle both Land Nest Shelter and Land Lock. We do not promise solo setup or a fixed pitching time for the air models.
Rain, ventilation and Australian campsite conditions
Look at site drainage, exposure and the forecast as well as the fabric specification. A hydrostatic-head figure describes a fabric test; it does not establish a complete tent's wind limit. Ventilation can help manage condensation, but it does not guarantee a dry interior. Allow time and space to dry the tent before storage.
Snow Peak's manuals advise leaving for a safe place when extreme weather is forecast, and prohibit combustion equipment inside the shelter. Use the corresponding instructions for your tent; do not treat a stove opening or an “all-season” description as proof that a particular indoor cooking or heating arrangement is safe.
Check what is included and what is separate
The Bunker listing includes a manual pump; confirm the contents supplied with your chosen version. An electric pump is an optional convenience only when its adapter and pressure controls match the tent. The Cosy Camp portable pump's maximum 22 PSI output is not a universal tent inflation setting.
The Bunker front extension and MARS 03 side extension are separate products. Check matching colours and accessory availability individually; an available tent does not mean a full accessory package is ready to dispatch.
Check shipping guidance before ordering bulky tents. Cloud Villa's listing requests a delivery arrangement outside metropolitan Melbourne. Ask about dispatch for the exact variant and destination if you have a departure deadline. To discuss bedding fit, contact the Knoxfield showroom and confirm which tents can be viewed.
