Critical Safety Information
-
Carbon monoxide hazard: Never use in a sealed space. Maintain permanent ventilation and use a working carbon monoxide alarm rated for the intended environment.
-
Compatible shelters only: Never use in a standard tent. Use only in a shelter specifically designed by its manufacturer for a solid-fuel stove and correctly installed stove jack.
-
Clearance: Follow the stove and shelter manufacturers' minimum clearances. Keep the stove, chimney and radiant heat away from fabric, bedding, furniture, fuel and other combustibles.
-
Heatproof base: Install on a stable, non-combustible stove mat or hearth that protects against radiant heat, sparks and embers.
-
Chimney security: Assemble every flue section correctly, keep the chimney vertical, stabilise it for wind and prevent contact with shelter fabric.
-
Supervision: Never leave the stove burning unattended or operate it while occupants are asleep.
-
Hot surfaces: Wear heat-resistant gloves and keep children and pets well clear.
-
First burn: Perform the first burn outdoors to check assembly and allow manufacturing residues to dissipate.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the replacement glass included?
The stove includes its installed viewing components as supplied. The separately listed $49.90 glass side is a replacement accessory, not a second stove or an included spare.
Can I use the stove in any tent?
No. Use it only with a shelter specifically designed for a solid-fuel stove and fitted with the correct stove jack, clearances and ventilation.
Can I burn treated timber or charcoal?
Use only dry, untreated firewood. Do not burn painted, glued, pressure-treated or manufactured timber unless the stove manual explicitly permits it.
Does a chimney damper make the stove safe in an enclosed space?
No. A damper controls flue flow; it does not remove the need for ventilation, correct installation, a carbon monoxide alarm and continuous supervision.
