Description
The Dometic Recon 256 Wh LiFePO4 Battery gives compatible cooling gear and small electronics a portable power source for touring and camp. It clicks into the Recon CF fridge/freezer for a low-profile fit, or works separately through its USB and XT60 connections.
The Slate battery packs 20 Ah at 12.8 V into a 2.4 kg unit, with a carry loop and LED charge indicator. Choose it as a spare for your Recon setup or as a compact power bank for compatible devices. The Australian Recon CF 47DZW fridge/freezer already includes one battery.
Is this battery right for your setup?

For Recon CF owners: the detachable format lets you remove the battery for charging and fit it back into the fridge’s battery compartment.

For other compatible Dometic coolers: use the separately sold Recon XT60-to-DC cable. Check the cooler’s connector and power requirements against the battery’s 11–14 V, 10 A, 120 W maximum XT60 output.

For phones and small electronics: USB-C and USB-A outputs offer flexible charging. The USB-C1 port supports up to 100 W input and output with suitable equipment.

The Recon fridge/freezer, optional XT60-to-DC cooler cable, solar panel, solar lead and compatible USB power supply are sold separately. Devices and furniture in lifestyle photographs are shown for illustration.
Charging and care
Charge the battery before first use to wake it from shipping mode. Use the dedicated XT60 input for a compatible solar or DC charging source, and keep connections dry and well ventilated. The battery must not be used in wet conditions or submerged. Wipe it with a damp cloth, store it fully charged in a dry place and recharge at least every three to six months while stored.
USB-A and USB-C2 share a maximum 20 W when used together. Connecting both XT60 input and USB-C1 gives charging priority to XT60 and switches USB-C1 off. Consult the manual before combining devices or charging sources.
Frequently asked questions
Is this an extra battery for the Recon CF 47DZW?
Yes. The AU fridge/freezer kit includes one Recon battery; this separate product can serve as a spare or replacement.
How long will it run a fridge?
Runtime depends on the fridge, temperature setting, weather and use. A fixed runtime is not specified here.
Can I connect a solar panel?
Yes, through the dedicated XT60 input, provided the panel’s output is within 11–24 V, 8 A and 100 W maximum. Use a suitable connection lead and follow the manual.
Can it jump-start a vehicle?
No. It is not intended as a vehicle starting battery or for parallel connection with other battery packs.
What warranty applies?
The operating manual states a two-year manufacturer warranty for Australia and New Zealand, subject to its terms and additional to applicable consumer guarantees.
